The College and the Community National Park Community College is located in Hot Springs AR, a beautiful resort community of over 50,000 approximately 45 minutes southwest of Little Rock . The local economy centers on tourism, manufacturing, retirement living, and medical sciences. Tourism attractions include the thermal waters of the National Park, hiking trails, horse racing at Oaklawn Park, five nearby lakes, outstanding golf courses, and a thriving art community. The fourth largest community college in the state, NPCC enrolls approximately 3,000 credit students each semester in both associate degree and certificate programs.

Employment Positions (Updated June 24, 2009) Full-Time Faculty/Part-Time Facult Employment Applications
FULL-TIME/PART-TIME FACULTY POSITIONS National Park Community College seeks a full-time English Instructor for a nine-month position for day and evening classes with an opportunity to teach during summer sessions. This position is needed to fill instruction predominantly for English Composition I and II, with the possibility of teaching other courses the division offers. Full-time teaching load is fifteen-credit hours per fall and spring semesters, with excellent benefits. Requirements: minimum of three years teaching English classes at the post-secondary level, with preference given to community college experience; Masters degree in English with at least 18 graduate hours in English; experience in available technology for developing and teaching online English classes is required. Position begins August 2009. AA/EOE Nursing Instructors (Part-time) National Park Community College is currently seeking part-time instructors for the fall PN/RN program. Specific needs include faculty to cover a Mental Health clinical experience in local community agencies for RN program, as well as a PN clinical instructor, primarily med-surg. Requirements: Prefer Master’s or BSN with strong clinical background for the RN program and may consider A.D.N. or diploma for the PN position. Additional future instructors needed include med-surg instructors for the spring 2010 RN program. AA/EOE Respiratory Therapy Program Director National Park Community College seeks a full-time Respiratory Therapy Program Director who will be responsible for all aspects of the respiratory care program, including management, administration, continuous review and analysis, planning, development, and general effectiveness of the program. Qualifications include: a bachelor’s degree in RT, master’s preferred, four years of RT experience with two years of clinical practice, national RT certification, and Arkansas licensure. Responsibilities include: establishment of the new RT program including curriculum design, admission criteria, equipment purchase and accreditation. The successful candidate will be responsible to meet classroom, clinical, and campus lab learning activities as well as student advising and committee work. Funding for this position is provided by the Title III grant. Minimum requirements: Masters degree with 18 graduate hours or special training/certification in the subject area to be taught. The photography courses require a minimum of a BA or BFA in Photography and knowledge of black and white and color film processing and printing, as well as alternative photographic processes such as Kodalith, Sabbatier, Gum Bichromate and Cyanotype. Also, knowledge of digital photography, Photoshop using Macintosh computers, and digital printing protocols would be beneficial.
